Project #18 - FIJI
The PARGO team arrived in FIJI for our 18th Clean Water Project. Here we visited 4 villages that all shared the same problem, their water was contaminated. Over one week and in collaboration with Give Clean Water we implemented
198 Gravity Fed 0.1 Micron Filtration Systems
In each village we visited their community hall which is where the demonstration started. The PARGO and Give Clean Water team assembled the buckets while chatting to the communities. Mavelo from Give Clean Water gave the demonstration and explained how their water is extremely dirty and their new filtration systems will remove 99.99% of bad bacteria, providing clean water.
We then split the communities into 3 stations
The first station we taught the communities how to assemble and use the filtration systems.
The second station we taught them how to backwash the filter using the syringe that we provide we filter.
The third station we taught them how to backwash the filter with a soft drink bottle if they lose the syringe.
Now they have a filter that will be able to provide clean drinking water for years to come.
