Marketing Coordinator DAN discusses Bukuyas living conditions, the impact the filters had on the community and a heartwarming moment from
 CLEAN WATER PROJECT #19

PP: How did it feel to experience your first PARGO Clean Water Project and how has this trip changed your perspective on access to clean water?

DAN: Honestly, it was pretty eye opening and life changing. Seeing a clean water project in action for the first time was super emotional in the best way. You hear about people not having access to clean water, but actually being there, meeting the families, and seeing the impact right in front of you… It hits different. It really makes you stop and think about how much we take water for granted back home.

PP: Was there a particular moment that really moved or inspired you?

DAN: Yeah, there was one moment that really stuck with me. We’d just finished showing how the filters work, and a few locals had started heading back to their homes with their new filtration systems. I was outside taking some photos when one of the locals came up to me and thanked PARGO so much for helping his family and community.

He opened up about how they constantly get sick from drinking dirty water and how grateful he was to finally have access to something safe. Hearing that firsthand hit me. It wasn’t just a thank you, it was a real, raw reminder of how big of a difference clean water can make in someone’s everyday life. It brought everything full circle and reminded me why this work matters so much.

PP: What do you think this project means for the future of Bukuya?

Dan: Access to clean water changes so much for this community. It means fewer kids getting sick, families spending less time dealing with waterborne illnesses, and more time for things like school, work, and just living healthier lives.

For Bukuya, this is just the beginning. It might seem like a small change, but the ripple effect it creates is huge. I truly believe this project has sparked something that will continue to grow for years to come.
